Lukas Spiropoulos

Lukas Spiropoulos is working towards a Master’s degree on the migration and mobility of Indian communities in Southern Africa,in particular those traversing the border of South Africa and Botswana. He has studied and worked at and around the University of the Witwatersrand since 2007, obtaining a BA in Philosophy and History in 2009. In 2010, he completed an Honours degree in History, which included a original research dissertation on migration (both internal and international) in Welkom and other smaller towns in South Africa. He has since worked as a researcher on a variety of research projects, including post-1990 transition politics in South Africa (with the National Research Foundation) and Apartheid- era public health policy (for Oxford-Brookes University).
